Big Dam Party
I’ve been photographing at Gathering Place in Tulsa ever since it first opened so I wanted to check out both Williams Crossing and Tulsa Wave Park. I ended up going on both Friday and Saturday and was able to get photos of people checking out the new installments. My goal when photographing around Tulsa is to shoot like a street photographer. Street photographers aim to capture life as it happens wherever they happen to live. It’s more common in a bigger city, but I want to capture Tulsa in this way. I am also inspired by film photographers in terms of their philosophies and the vibrant colors of film. Photography is more than just a means to an end. I believe in the art form of photography and plenty of photographers of old have shown us what the medium has to offer. That being said I’m happy with the photos I got from the Big Dam Party and I plan to continue doing street photography in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
